 A meta- analysis on the role of delayed enhancement in cardiac MRI in identifying sudden cardiac death in patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy.

Prior research:

  • Performance Improvement project in improving the quality of hand offs among residents - Educated the PGY1s in delivering appropriate sign outs and identifying important information that needs to be communicated to the on call team. After the interventions, residents felt that their quality of hand offs was better than before. Canton Medical Education Foundation (2011-2012)

Research Project at University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center:

Body Fat, Hormone Replacement Therapy Use and Incident of Type 2 Diabetes in Postmenopausal Women of the MESA Study. Results: In middle-aged and older non-diabetic postmenopausal women, a current of past use of menopausal hormone therapy is independently associated with greater risks of incident diabetes.

Prior research:

Dr. Ebong was a research fellow and clinical instructor at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, from 2010-2012. There she studied cardiovascular epidemiology and performed quality of care and outcomes research in cardiovascular disease. She collaborated with other researchers in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis and Coronary Artery Disease in Young Adults Study. She obtained a master's of science degree in Clinical Population and Translational Science from Wake Forest University in 2012.

Experience:

Dr. Ebong has worked in clinic and hospital settings at Loma Linda University Transplantation Institute, University of Southern California Los Angeles, Wake Forest University, Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa, and several hospitals and clinics in Nigeria.
