Dr. Wei Zhou joined the UA as professor and chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery, which is the specialty associated with surgery on arteries and veins. Previously she was professor of surgery at Stanford University and chief of vascular surgery at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System.

She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her surgery training at the University of California, San Diego, and a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. 

Dr. Zhou is a distinguished surgeon-scientist and leader in the impact of carotid interventions. She has authored and co-authored over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals.  Her work has been funded by the AHA, VA, NIH, and industries. She has been the principal investigator of more than 30 clinical trials.
