Brief Bio

Dr. Steven Mottl was a Cardiology Fellow at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.  Dr. Mottl began his education at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where he obtained a BA in Medical Microbiology and Biomedical Sciences.  He then moved to Chicago to complete his medical school training at Midwestern University and then an Internal Medicine residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Evanston.  He most recently worked as a hospitalist and held a faculty appointment at the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine.


Dr. Mottl's previous research has included both molecular and translational studies.  His most recent projects include the functional analysis of the C-terminal region of troponin I in transgenic mice and autonomic remodeling of the left atrium in a canine model of congestive heart failure.  His work has been presented at many national meetings including the American Heart Association Scientific Session, Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions, and the Biophysical Society's Annual Meeting.
