Franz Rischard, DO, M.Sc. is an assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program at the University of Arizona. He is board certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonary disease. As the director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program, Dr. Rischard’s research focuses on the right ventricle and its interaction with the pulmonary circulation. He also researches vascular physiology, bioengineering, and exercise physiology. He collaborates with other Sarver Heart Center faculty members in imaging and catheterization for clinical and research purposes.

Dr. Rischard received his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and his master’s in zoology from the University of Idaho. After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif., Dr. Rischard completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Arizona Health Sciences.
