New Options Available for Atrial Fibrillation Patients with High Bleeding Risks
For patients who can’t tolerate anticoagulation medicines, cardiologists specializing in interventional and electrophysiology procedures and cardiothoracic surgeons now have new options for reducing atrial-fibrillation-related stroke risks.
UAMC Selected as Clinical Trial Site for New Sutureless Aortic Valve
Some heart patients who could be helped by surgery have conditions that place them at too high a risk because of the length a time they would need to be in surgery. A new heart valve under study may reduce surgery times and expand treatment options for such patients.

The Gootter Grand Slam supports research focused on resuscitation science and prevention of sudden cardiac death. The Phoenix Suns raise awareness of chest-compression-only CPR. Pat Zabaleta receives Superb Service Award. Art is on loan at the UA Sarver Heart Center.
