The Leonard C. Pfeiffer Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine

G. R. Pfeiffer

The first endowed chair at the College of Medicine was established in 1972 by the Leonard C. Pfeiffer Foundation. Frank I. Marcus, MD, founding chief of the section of cardiology, was instrumental in securing this endowment. The Pfeiffer Chair played a crucial role in the early days of the section of cardiology. Pictured is G. R. Pfeiffer (on the right) with Dr. Henry R. Herold.
