A two-year fellowship under Dr. Kurt Amplatz, a world-renowned pioneer and innovator in the field of cardiovascular radiology provided extensive experience in performing coronary catheterizations, pediatric cardiac catheterizations, general angiographic procedures, and interventional procedures.Early clinical responsibilities at the University of Arizona included Chief of the angiographic section in the Department of Radiology, participation in all pediatric catheterizations, and responsibility for half of the cardiac catheterization procedures at the VA Hospital and provided further experience in the field of cardiovascular radiology.This experience provides the background for my current primary roles in chest and pediatric radiology.
