Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Training Program
Our Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program, which was launched in 1971 and certified in 1988, is affiliated with the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center, a center of excellence with over 135 members who are cardiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, neurologists, research scientists and numerous other medical specialists.

Interventional Cardiology Fellowship

The University of Arizona College of Medicine Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program has two positions which have been filled for 2017-2018. This fellowship is designed for individuals interested in a cardiology career with interventional procedures as a key component. Completion of an accredited ACGME cardiology fellowship is required.

Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson Division of Cardiology offers sub-specialty training in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.  Newly accredited in April of 2017, fellowship positions are available for incoming fellows July 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The cardiology division in the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Department of Medicine offers three fellowship programs.
  • Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship: an ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education)  accredited three-year program for cardiology training.
  • Interventional Cardiology Fellowship: This ACGME accredited one-year program is designed for physicians interested in a cardiology career with interventional procedures as a key component.
  • Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship: This ACGME accredited one-year program offers sub-specialty training in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
