Tucson Myofilament Meeting, May 23-26

The Tucson Myofilament Meeting is an international 3.5-day Sarver Heart Center conference that brings together approximately 250 scientists focused on the structure and function of the myofilaments that comprise the contractile machinery of muscle. Spanning topics from molecular biophysics to heart and skeletal muscle disease mechanisms and drug development, the meeting is known for its highly interactive, collaborative, and informal atmosphere, with strong engagement of early career investigators.

Traditionally held biennially at the University of Wisconsin, the meeting will continue at the University of Arizona beginning in May 2026, offering a distinctive Tucson setting that fosters scientific exchange and community building.

Sarver Heart Center: Empowering Fellows Through Outreach & Education

At the Sarver Heart Center, we recognize the immense impact that our fellows have on the community. Our fellows actively engage with local communities, sharing knowledge and promoting evidence-based practices. Their dedication, expertise, and passion contribute significantly to advancing cardiovascular health and education.

The Sarver Heart Center is pleased to partner with the University of Arizona Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) to provide lifesaving heart health education. OLLI is a membership-based learning community where “curiosity never retires”: OLLI members are adults aged 55 and older who seek to maintain an engaged, active lifestyle beyond retirement. Sarver Heart Center fellows share their expertise with OLLI members in two annual lecture series, empowering them with knowledge to promote heart health and prevent disease. While OLLI is a membership-based organization, lectures by Sarver Heart members are free and open to the public.
