Tucson Myofilament Meeting, May 23-26

The Tucson Myofilament Meeting is an international 3.5-day Sarver Heart Center conference that brings together approximately 250 scientists focused on the structure and function of the myofilaments that comprise the contractile machinery of muscle. Spanning topics from molecular biophysics to heart and skeletal muscle disease mechanisms and drug development, the meeting is known for its highly interactive, collaborative, and informal atmosphere, with strong engagement of early career investigators.

Traditionally held biennially at the University of Wisconsin, the meeting will continue at the University of Arizona beginning in May 2026, offering a distinctive Tucson setting that fosters scientific exchange and community building.

Physicians practicing with Banner – University Medical Group, Banner – University Medical Center Tucson, Banner – UMC South and the University of Arizona Cancer Center are invited to an honorary luncheon Friday, March 29, in recognition of National Doctors’ Day 2019.

For the Tucson campus hospital, the meal will take place at Kiewit Auditorium on the University of Arizona Health Sciences campus and, for South campus, in the La Galería conference room just off the cafeteria.

Meals will be served by hospital administrators from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There also will be lunch deliveries from Baggins to the all clinics, including Banner - University Medicine North and the University of Arizona Cancer Center's Peter and Paula Fasseas Cancer Clinic, both at 3838 N. Campbell Ave.

Look for balloons and messages of appreciation across all UA/Banner facilities in Tucson!
