Tucson Myofilament Meeting, May 23-26

The Tucson Myofilament Meeting is an international 3.5-day Sarver Heart Center conference that brings together approximately 250 scientists focused on the structure and function of the myofilaments that comprise the contractile machinery of muscle. Spanning topics from molecular biophysics to heart and skeletal muscle disease mechanisms and drug development, the meeting is known for its highly interactive, collaborative, and informal atmosphere, with strong engagement of early career investigators.

Traditionally held biennially at the University of Wisconsin, the meeting will continue at the University of Arizona beginning in May 2026, offering a distinctive Tucson setting that fosters scientific exchange and community building.

Lilly Marks Workshop | Leadership & Management: Pearls of Wisdom

The College of Medicine - Tucson Office of Curricular Affaris, the COM-T chapter of Women in Academic Medicine and the College of Medicine - Tucson Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion invite you to a special virtual workshop with Lilly Marks, Vice President for Health Affairs at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Sharing her wisdom learned in decades of experience in academic medicine and the business industry, Ms. Marks will cover tips and approaches that all women faculty, students, residents, staff, and fellows can apply to advance their careers.

Lilly Marks has served as Vice President for Health Affairs for the University of Colorado and Anschutz Medical Campus (2010-2020). In that capacity, she has overseen the campus which is home to the university’s Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, College of Nursing and Graduate School and the University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Prior to her health campus leadership role, Ms. Marks spent two decades as both Senior Associate Dean for Finance and Administration at the School of Medicine and as Executive Director of University of Colorado Medicine, the 501(c)(3) faculty practice plan. Ms. Marks is a frequent national speaker on topics regarding medical school economics, health care and clinical practice management, and leadership issues in academic medicine.
