Seminar: "When the heart's cell-cell connections fail: New mechanisms and therapeutic strategies"

The Sarver Heart Center welcomes Farah Sheikh, PhD, professor of medicine at the University of California San Diego, for a research seminar on how the connections between heart muscle cells break down, and on new strategies to treat the resulting disease.

Dr. Sheikh studies the connections between heart muscle cells and how their failure causes inherited arrhythmias. Her lab's work led to a gene therapy now in clinical testing.
