About the speaker
Darren K. McGuire, MD, MHSc, is a professor of internal medicine in the Division of Cardiology and a distinguished teaching professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. An internationally recognized expert in cardiometabolic medicine, his research focuses on improving outcomes for people with diabetes, heart failure, chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease.
McGuire has led and contributed to international clinical studies that have advanced cardiometabolic care and helped shape clinical guidelines worldwide. He also serves as an associate editor of Circulation and has been recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher for the global influence of his scientific contributions.
