TOPIC: Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: Advances in Imaging
SPEAKER: Dr. Raj Janardhanan
 

Dr. Janardhanan is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Medical Imaging at the Banner-University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. He is the Director of Echocardiography as well as the Medical Director, Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging and is also a member of the Sarver Heart Center.
After undergraduate medical training in India, he had extensive clinical and research training in the United Kingdom in Non-Invasive Cardiology.   In 2004 he was offered the position of Clinical Project Director of the Echocore lab at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard University.  He completed a clinical cardiology fellowship at the University of Virginia, followed by training in advanced multi-modality non-invasive imaging.Dr. Janardhanan is fully certified in echocardiography with a diplomate in adult comprehensive echocardiography as well as Fellowship of the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE), the highest level of recognition in the field of echocardiography. In addition to board certification in cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology, he has Level 3 training in advanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR).  He has a special interest in imaging in structural heart disease and interventional 3D-TEE during transcatheter and intra-operative procedures. He is a member of the successful TAVR and MitralClip team of Banner-University Medical Center Tucson.Dr. Janardhanan's areas of clinical interests include valvular/structural heart disease, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, chest pain syndromes and cardiac risk screening in athletes. His areas of research interests include hypertensive heart disease, diastolic dysfunction, strain imaging, myocardial perfusion and viability imaging.
