Sarver Heart Center Members Share Expertise Nationally and Internationally

Khadijah Breathett, MD, MS Khadijah Breathett, MD, MS, was a panelist on two sessions presented by the Heart Failure Society of America: “Health Disparities in Heart Failure Live Panel Discussion,” August 28, and “Beyond Socioeconomic & Access to Care: The Clinical Imperative for Understanding Racial Heart Failure Differences and Disparities,” September 30. 

Carol Gregorio, PhD Carol Gregorio, PhD, was appointed assistant vice provost for Global Health Sciences. A co-director of the Sarver Heart Center, she also is head and professor of the UArizona College of Medicine - Tucson Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. In her new role, she works with the five Health Sciences college deans and a team of faculty representatives from each college to expand Health Sciences education and research through new online master’s degree programs and microcampus dual-degree programs with partner universities around the world.  

Michael Grandner, PhD Michael Grandner, PhD, director of the Sleep and Health Research Program and associate professor, clinical translational sciences, medicine, psychiatry, and psychology in the University of  Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, is president-elect of the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine

Nancy K. Sweitzer, MD, PhD Nancy K. Sweitzer, MD, PhD, professor of medicine and director of the UArizona Sarver Heart Center, was distinguished faculty on the Heart Failure Society of America Review Board for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology board certification.

The Banner – University Medical Group Tucson Cardiovascular Clinics and Banner – University Medical Center – South were recognized for their contributions and commitments to patient care during the 2020 Banner Best Awards. University Medical Group Tucson Cardiovascular Clinics were celebrated as the team who put the customer at the center of every decision they make and consistently provide customers outstanding service. The Patient Preference Card Team at Banner University Medical Center – South received the "Amazement Award" for demonstrating strong leadership, collaboration, dedication and focus while driving innovation and positioning Banner as an industry leader.
