The daylong event gathers basic scientists, clinicians, and learners to encourage transdisciplinary collaborations in the college, a value of the Sarver Heart Center.

Sarver Heart Center member Zhiyu Dai, PhD, an assistant professor and director of Translational Endothelial Research in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, received a research grant for his studies on chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD)-associated with pulmonary hypertension (PH).

Sarver Heart Center Minority Outreach Program Donates Blood Pressure Monitor to Baptist Church

A donation by the Sarver Heart Center Minority Outreach Program and the American Heart Association provides the congregation at Rising Star Baptist Church, a predominantly African American church located in South Tucson, free access to measure their blood pressure at any time they are at the church.

The University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center will participate in a groundbreaking trial (COSIRA II) in the United States, focused on the safety and efficacy of a device for patients with refractory angina pectoris, a medical condition that causes chest pain due to a lack of sufficient blood supply to the heart.

Remembering the Life and Legacy of Frank Marcus, MD

With great sadness, the Sarver Heart Center announces Frank Marcus, MD, professor emeritus who dedicated more than 50 years to the Division of Cardiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson and the Sarver Heart Center, passed away at the age of 94.
